Trump says leaders will make the globe “more peaceful” in a conversation with Chinese President Xi.

Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States, claims to have had a “good” phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, indicating that Beijing and Washington will cooperate to address a number of issues in the future.

Three days before Trump, who has promised to slap high tariffs of up to 60 percent on Chinese goods, returns to the White House, the call was made on Friday.

The already strained relations between the US and China might worsen as a result of Trump’s trade policy. Excessive taxes on Chinese imports have the potential to hurt China’s economy, increase costs for US consumers, and spark a trade war between the two nations.

However, the new US president was upbeat about the relationship’s prospects with China.

“I anticipate that we will work together to find solutions to a lot of issues, and we’ll get started right away. Trump said on social media, “We talked about balancing trade, fentanyl, TikTok, and many other topics.”

“President Xi and I will exert every effort to promote peace and security throughout the world.”

Citing alleged privacy and content manipulation issues, the US Congress last year introduced a measure to outlaw the Chinese parent company’s TikTok video platform.

However, according to Trump advisors, the president-elect is considering ways to avoid the government ban on the well-liked site.
